Trash and Garbage Collection

Garbage is scheduled for pickup each Tuesday. Each house has been provided a garbage container.

Trash pickup is scheduled for every other Friday. Trash (e.g. limbs, brush, furniture) and solid waste (household garbage) collections are provided by the City of Mobile. Trash must not be put out more than 48 hours in advance and must not impede street or sidewalk traffic.

You can also call 311 to have larger items such as appliances picked up between trash pickups.

Recycling

There are two single stream recycling centers operated by the City of Mobile. Single stream means you do not have to separate your recycling into different types such as paper, plastic, aluminum when dropping it off. The closest location to Inverness is in Langan park at 4851 Museum Rd. across from the Mobile Museum of Art in the parking lot of the Board of Education. The other single stream City of Mobile recycling center is 310 Pinehill Dr, Mobile, AL 36606, which is off Airport Blvd about a mile east of I-65.

Mobile County 251-459-8426 also operates a Recycling Center at 7450 Hitt Rd, Mobile, AL 36695. Hitt Rd. is reached going north on Hillcrest, west on Grelot, north on Cody, then left at the Hitt Rd light. This center is not single stream so that you have to separate your recycling into bins by type. The image below is a link to their website with hours of operation.
